Highly recommend Nepal Mother House for a professional EBC trekking experience

    Mar 2024 • Family
Can't recommend Nepal Mother House Treks enough. From the initial contact with Karna via email regarding our custom trip for the Everest Base Camp trek, to making a few changes along the way (and even during the trek), everything was handled professionally and without issue. Airport and hotel pickup/dropoff was also handled without any question and we were greeted warmly.

Myself and my father opted for the drive-in EBC trek and our guide, Jay, and porter, Audiraj, couldn't have been better. The first day of trekking took its toll on my father's old knees but with Jay's patience and experience of many (25 successful!) EBC treks we reached our day 1 guesthouse. The following few days we took it slow to help my father recover a bit and with Jay's guidance we successfully reached EBC according to schedule!

Along the way, Jay couldn't have been more helpful with taking our breakfast, lunch, and dinner orders at the guesthouses (and organizing a melon/apple with pomegranate desert each night), taking strategic tea stops during the trek, and explaining clearly the trekking plan for the following day. Jay's English is superb, he has a lot of local and cultural knowledge and was able to answer any of our random questions along the way. Also hats off to Audiraj for carrying the majority of our gear there and back!

I will be fully recommending Nepal Mother House Treks and Jay to my brother and his partner (and anyone else) when they come to do the EBC trek (or any other trek in Nepal). When I am back for some of the other treks I will also be using Nepal Motherhouse again!
Massive thanks to Karna, Jay, and Audiraj for making our EBC trek a successful and memorable experience!

Yet another superb Trek (Nar Phu) organized by Karna at Nepal Mother House Treks.

I was provided with an excellent guide to visiting the ‘hidden valley’ to the North of Manang - close to the border with Tibet.

The Nar-Phu trek is less traveled and access is restricted. The arrangement with NMH was faultless and was customized to my personal requirements and extended itinerary. Moreover, Subarna, my English-speaking guide was the perfect companion. In addition, he kindly carried some of my gear to help

lighten my load. I really could not ask for more. We had so much fun and, despite the age difference, had a great time! It helped that we enjoyed perfect weather.

Having previously trekked quite extensively in Nepal this trip turned out to be one of the best. I am most grateful to Karna at Nepal Mother House Treks for all he has done to provide me with such an awesome trip. Once again it was excellent value for money and have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Great people doing their utmost to showcase the very best in trekking in Nepal.

    Highly Recommended.

Thank you for an amazing trek, Manaslu & Tsum valley!

Karna and the Nepal Mother House staff, thank you for helping me in fulfilling my long-time dream to trek in Nepal.
For years I was looking for the opportunity to trek in Nepal. 6 months ago when I did my research about the right agencies to work with, Nepal Mother House came up as one of the best.

From my first contact, and through many interactions Karna was very responsive and focused, he gave me reasonable pricing, and more than everything else, he gave me the feeling that I have someone whom I can trust in organizing the perfect Ultimate Manaslu trek.
    I was not mistaken.

Karna provided our group with a great guide, Prem, and a very good porter Asia. Karna managed all the required logistics before, during, and after the trek. He fulfilled all of his commitments in the best way. Karna helped in calming down my family when I was away up in the mountains with no working communication. As one of my friends needed some medical help, Karna was on his side making sure that he will get the right treatment.

Prem, our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. Prem educated us about the region, the scenery, the people, and the cultures. Prem knew how to lead the group, and how to set the proper paste. He came up with good suggestions for adapting the original plan to meet the actual group paste and conditions. He knew how to handle challenges and how to work around some procedural issues when they arose.

Overall, I could not have chosen better,

Unforgettable Manaslu Trekking with Nar Phu Valley

Just before Christmas, I finished trekking with Ashok who is one of the guides of Nepal Mother House. It was a great experience, not easy to describe all the emotions and feelings which we had day by day. It puts a smile on my face each time I think about the tour (Manaslu Trek with Narphu Valley).
Nepal is an amazing country with so many lovely people.

Nepal Mother House is a great, open-minded trekking company, that organized an excellent tour. I will definitely trek again with them if the wind blows me back to Nepal.

We can’t Imagine a better place

Nepal was our last country of 2 years traveling around the world so we were quite strict about what we wanted. We talk with more than 30 agencies and guides, and with some friends who did a trek in Nepal. Luckily we contact Nepal's mother's house and Rana. Rana is a super, super easygoing person and he answer all the hundreds of emails that we sent with a lot of questions. After all, we arrived in Kathmandu and for the first moment in the airport, everything was absolutely perfect. We did Tsum valley and Manaslu with the best guide we can imagine! Mr. Bomb is sure one of the best guides you can have in Nepal for sure. Funny, taking care of everything, knowing the best spots on the way, and the best places to eat, he is just perfect. Now we can say Nepal is maybe the best country we had visited in 2 years and part of it is thanks to Nepal Mother House.

    Everest Base Camp Trek 2018

In April 2018 I accompanied a large group of Hikers on a 14 day trek to Everest Base Camp, which I booked through Nepal Mother House. Our group was 26 in total and obviously required a lot of detailed planning for suitable accommodation etc. When communicating with Karna Rana, the company owner, he really went out of his way to accommodate us right down to the smallest detail. From our arrival in Kathmandu to our departure after our trek, everything had gone like clockwork, which was facilitated in a big way by the great guides and porters that accompanied us. I know that this is by far the largest group Nepal Motherhouse have dealt with, but it certainly caused no difficulty for them and a testament to this was the fact that all 26 hikers successfully reached base camp. Accommodation and food was very good and well organised by the friendly staff. The cost of the trek was very reasonable and I would have no hesitation in recommending or using the company for any future hikes. Well done Nepal Mother house.

    Kanchenjunga North & South Base Camp Trek - Oct/Nov 2018 - AWESOME!

Karna, and the Nepal Mother House trekking company did an excellent job from start to finish for our successful 3-week trek to the north & south base camps of the remote Kanchenjunga area, in eastern Nepal in Oct/Nov 2018. I contacted Karna from Canada a couple of months before and immediately responded to my email with thorough information about the trip.

Karna was extremely helpful and responsive, even before any booking confirmation was made. We are 2 younger trekkers who are very independent and have solid backcountry experience, so Karna fit us with a local guide from the Kanchenjunga area (Mingma Sherpa) who provided a great experience for us while allowing us to have flexibility throughout the 3-weeks trip. I'd highly recommend both Nepal Mother House (Karna), Mingma Sherpa, and the Kanchenjunga Circuit trek particularly if you are looking for an independent-style trek in a more remote area of Nepal. With Kanchenjunga, you get to start low in the foothills and climb up through spectacular mountain terrain, crossing one major pass to connect both the north and south base camps.

Nepal Mother House assisted with all logistics starting from arrival in Kathmandu, air transport to eastern Nepal, and private jeep/car to the start of the trek. Everything was well organized and was at a competitive price point. Karna and his team are very trustworthy, and will take the time to patiently answer all your questions! A great company, offering fantastic treks, highly recommended.

    Kathmandu to Lukla Bus Trip

Great opportunity to see Nepal on your way to Namche.

I found this bus (more precisely - jeep) opportunity while searching for routes to Namche other than Lukla air flight.

The Kathmandu to Lukla Jeep route itself goes through picturesque Nepalese landscapes, reminding me of the Altai region (Russia) and Switzerland. The first ride (Kathmandu to Salleri) takes around 10 hours, on asphalt road. Then around 6 hours more to Tham Danda across beautiful mountain area - but be ready for bumpy road :) Jeeps are spacious enough and ready to carry out the task. Please, do not expect some fancy Land Cruiser, these are just decent off-road jeeps.

The trek from Tham Danda to Cheplung is really authentic, and the scenery is breathtaking. Prepare for some rocks, mud, and mules traffic, as well as stunning valley views. That’s not the easiest part, but can be done in 1 day with no problem.

A few words about guys: they are the most informative and honest travel agency I’ve ever met. I would like to express my gratitude to Subarna and Karna Raven for their support throughout my stay in Nepal.

Wishing everyone nice trekking and best of luck.
