Makulu Base Camp Trekking is a challenging and outstanding trek in the eastern part of Nepal through the remote and unfrequented trekking areas. This Trekking begins at Tumlingtar after 40 minutes scenic flight from Kathmandu then heads up the Arun River valley to Sedua and Num; then crosses over Shipton La Pass at an elevation of 4210 meters, then into the upper Barun valley and gets into Makalu Base Camp (5,250 m). Where you have fascinated Himalaya’s panorama; Chamlang (7,319m), Peak 6 (6,739m), and Peak 7 (6,105m). Then the trail goes to alpine meadows and at the base of Mt. Makalu reflecting dusk’s light off in the neighboring peaks are much spectacular. From the higher region to the lower rhododendron of oak forest trees are interesting and contrasting to observe. Makalu Base Camp Trek can be driven by bus from Kathmandu to Hile and start trek further destination too.

This is complicated trekking, even though, it provides stunning contrasts of high waterfalls cascade into deep gorges, craggy rocks rise from lush green forests, and colorful flowers bloom beneath white snow peaks. Long and unspoiled terrain makes this trek a classic in its own features and rare species of animals, over 3000 species of flowering plants, with hundreds of orchid varieties, 48. Primroses and 25 of Nepal's 30 rhododendrons splash the hillsides with color, 440 species of birds, and 75 species of mammals, including the endangered Clouded Leopard, Red Panda and Musk Deer inhabitance of the Makalu-Barun national park makes your trip unforgettable. They hold the key to the preservation of the unique biological and cultural treasures of the Makalu Barun area. Inclusions

  • Arrival and Departure all transportation (airport to Hotel to airport).
  • All ground transportation by private vehicles, local bus, or Comfort Tourist bus.
  • Transportation from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar or drive to Hile and Lukla to Kathmandu Air ticket (Weight limit: 10 kg main baggage and 5 kg hand per passenger/flight) and private tourist bus/ car/ van to the Hotel. 
  • Warm down Jacket and Sleeping Bag for the trek.
  • Duffel Bag during the trek.
  • First Aid medical kid.
  • Government license holder experienced Local Guide with English Speaking and friendly their food, accommodation, salary, insurance, equipment.
  • 1 Sherpa (assistance guide) if the group size is more than 10 people. Plus their food, accommodation, salary, insurance, and equipment.
  • Makalu Barun Conservation  Area permits and Sagarmatha National Park Permit Fee
  • TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) Cards
  • Full board meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) with Tea, and coffee each meal in a cup.
  • Tourist service charge, vat, Governments Tax, and official expanse if necessary.
  • First Aid medical kit during the trip, including Oximeter to measure Oxygen and pulse at high altitude.
  • Welcome and farewell program.

  • Travel and Rescue Insurance (compulsory).
  • Tipping to the crew.
  • Accommodation and meals in Kathmandu twin bed sharing basic.
