After drinking this cool water he was relieved of the toxicity and since then Gosainkunda Lake has been a rewarding place for many Hindus and Buddhists. Hindus believe that the image of Mahadev (Shiva) can be seen on the middle surface of the water still now. This large image will be remaining in this holy Lake, whenever this universe remains.

Gosaikunda Trekking starts either at Dhunche or Syabrubesi, after a 5 to 6 hours scenic drive from Kathmandu. Then the trailhead towards the Gosainkunda via Chandanbari, Cholangpati, and Lauribina and get to the holy Gosaikunda Lake. Most of the trail goes through the pine, oak, and rhododendron forests with their rare veracities of vegetation we can catch a glimpse of wildlife such as boar, bear, and musk dear. If we are lucky enough, you might be able to spot the shy red panda that inhabits in this area. The birds chirping their melodies combined with dawn and dusk’s colorful mountains views are a true splendor before your eyes. Gosaikunda Lake Trek offers amazing mountains view, including Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and the Annapurna massif as far as you can see. Additionally, the Langtang Himal range itself surrounded your path. You will experience the spiritual lifestyle of dedicated priests who perform their rituals in the temple in previous times. Every year this sacred place is visited by thousands of Hindu and Buddist Pilgrims during the full moon of August. So it is called Gosainkund Pilgrim Trekking also.

Gosainkunda Trek is highly recommended for those who are interested in religious beliefs and mountain scenery. It can be arranged throughout the whole year but February to May and August to November are the best time. We at Nepal Mother House Treks organize Gosainkunda Trip by local Guide and porters according to our client’s holiday schedule and interests. This will certainly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
