The Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill, a popular trekking route in the Annapurna Region, is a true classic trip among some of the most magnificent mountain scenery and culture. It is a moderate walk through the diverse ethnic groups with their livelihoods and variety of vegetation, where wildlife is playing in the beautiful forest beneath the lap of the majestic Himalayan range. The trail takes you through charming traditional Gurung, Magar, and Thakali villages. Those ethnic groups will greet you with very warm hospitality.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek through Poon Hill offers you breathtaking views of the Himalaya range, including Machapuchhare (Fishtail Mountain), Lamjung Himal, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli Peak, and the entire Gangapurna trail. Annapurna Base Camp hike starts in the ancient city of Kathmandu; you will drive by bus or take a short scenic flight to Pokhara for an overnight stay. Then the trek leads from Pokhara to Nayapul, then through evergreen rhododendron thicket forests to Ghorepani Poon Hill. Where offers you stunning sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas: Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, and many more snow-capped peaks changing from sliver to golden color. Then the trail leads you east to the settlement of Tadapani and on towards Chhomrong, from where we commence our journey into the MBC (Machhapuchhare Base Camp) and onwards to the ABC (Annapurna Base Camp), at an elevation of 4,130 meters.

You will collect lifetime experiences and go back to Jhinu Danda through rice terraces and forests with towering snowy peaks in the background. This is your last chance to admire the beauty and sight of the Annapurna Himal. We “Nepal Mother House Treks” offer Annapurna Base Camp Trekking itinerary shorter and longer as per your demand and schedule. We organize ABC Trek year-round with long-range experiences as a government license holder and local guide, but the best time is the beginning of September to mid-November and the beginning of March to mid-May.
